PHP Developer – Nextcloud, OSS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Creating and sustaining customer projects that cater to millions of users on a daily basis

• Contributing to significant open source initiatives that we are involved with

• Collaborating with product managers, developers, and architects to develop robust backend solutions utilizing modern PHP frameworks, especially Laravel

• Designing and constructing REST APIs (and occasionally GraphQL)

• Conducting regular code reviews and assisting in establishing best practices within the team

• Monitoring application performance with cutting-edge APM tools

• Challenging and enhancing coding standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in PHP backend development at an enterprise level

• Experience with schema design and software modeling

• Advanced proficiency with Git and Git workflows

• Expertise in writing automated tests (PHPUnit, Pest)

• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Linear or Notion)

• Strong knowledge of web security principles and common vulnerabilities

• Significant experience with local development environments based on Docker
