PHP Application Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Deliver extensive technical support for PHP-driven applications, ensuring peak performance and dependability across our telecommunications infrastructure.

• Collaborate closely with development teams and end-users to effectively diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in a systematic manner.

• Assess existing tools, applications, and scripts to create clear and organized technical documentation.

• Document system architecture, integrations, data flows, dependencies, operational procedures, and configuration needs.

• Generate runbooks, support documentation, and knowledge transfer resources.

• Partner with engineering teams in Greece and VNO to collect, verify, and enhance technical information.

• Ensure that documentation aligns with internal standards and is prepared for distribution to centralized platform teams.

• Offer daily support for current tools throughout the transition phase.

• Conduct troubleshooting, bug fixes, and minor enhancements as necessary.

• Maintain and modify Apache configurations and web server operations.

• Assist with API configuration, endpoints, and HTTP method management.

• Run shell commands for operational tasks, health checks, log analysis, and routine maintenance.

• Investigate and resolve issues across the entire technology stack: PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Apache, and shell scripts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Advanced proficiency in PHP (Core requirement – legacy tools heavily depend on PHP).

• Strong understanding of JavaScript (client-side functionality and dynamic components).

• Familiarity with HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) and the interaction between web servers and browsers.

• Knowledge of how APIs are constructed, configured, authenticated, and utilized.

• Competence in Linux shell commands (diagnostics, basic scripting, permissions, log analysis).

• Working familiarity with Apache HTTP Server.

• Experience with MySQL (administration, queries, performance considerations, and data structures).

• Capability to understand and document IT architectures, system diagrams, and platform interactions.

• Awareness of migration techniques or transitioning legacy systems to centralized platforms (preferred).

• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
