• Analyzing extensive real-world driving datasets to pinpoint safety-critical driving incidents.
• Identifying, segmenting, and structuring driving scenarios pertinent to the operational domain of automated driving functionalities.
• Enhancing identified scenarios with essential environmental, infrastructure, and system characteristics.
• Creating a machine-readable, data-driven catalog of scenarios.
• Formulating safety metrics and contributing to evidence-based validation and release decisions.
• The final doctoral topic will be established collaboratively with the professor.
• A good to very good university degree that qualifies for doctoral studies in computer science, data science, systems engineering, robotics, or a related field of study.
• Strong expertise in data analysis and machine learning, preferably with experience in time series or sequential data.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis, as well as clustering or classification techniques.
• Basic understanding of complex technical systems, ideally within the context of automated or cyber-physical systems.
• Proficiency in English at C1 level and German at B1 level.
• An analytical and structured approach to work.
• A high degree of self-motivation for conducting scientific research.
• Ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary environment.
