This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Participate in well-defined research challenges that involve cutting-edge machine learning techniques.
• Create and assess innovative algorithmic methods based on contemporary research.
• Analyze experimental outcomes and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Utilize rigorous scientific reasoning to tackle intricate and open-ended technical issues.
• Design experiments to test novel learning strategies, architectures, or optimization techniques.
• Establish reproducible research workflows and document experimental assumptions.

• Identify unexpected behaviors, methodological flaws, and performance constraints.
• Review technical outputs for methodological integrity, originality, and research excellence.
• Evaluate whether claims are substantiated by experiments and relevant baselines.
• Recognize gaps in reasoning, evaluation frameworks, and result interpretation.
• Provide clear written feedback and suggestions for further exploration.
• Collaborate asynchronously with senior researchers and technical stakeholders.
• Clearly communicate findings, limitations, and research conclusions.
• Facilitate rapid project execution while upholding high scientific standards.
• A PhD in machine learning, computer science, artificial intelligence, statistics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Doctoral research showcasing significant original contributions to the field of machine learning.
• At least one primary conference publication at ICML, NeurIPS, or ICLR.
• Proven experience in conducting original machine learning research.
• A history of contributing to algorithmic innovation rather than just applied analytics.
• Strong skills in experimental design, mathematical reasoning, and technical writing.
• Capability to work independently on ambiguous and research-intensive challenges.
• Availability to promptly engage in an urgent pilot project.
• Additional research experience in a university, industrial research lab, or advanced AI organization may enhance an application.
• Fully remote position with flexible scheduling options.
