This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Precise handling of prescriptions across all programs and medications, including addressing insurance billing concerns with third-party payers and patient support initiatives.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to clinic personnel, nurses, and physicians primarily via phone and email.
• Compliance with all pertinent guidelines, including established Standard Operating Procedures and applicable regulatory standards set forth by the Provincial College of Pharmacists.
• Ensure the safe and suitable storage of medications.
• Actively engage in the ongoing evaluation of pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Manage and reconcile inventory, which involves ordering, maintaining, and organizing necessary inventory and packaging supplies to facilitate dispensing.
• Cultivate and sustain professional relationships with healthcare professionals, reimbursement coordinators, private payers, and patients.
• Prepare medications for shipment, including packing them into cold chain coolers.
• Coordinate delivery services and couriers to ensure timely receipt of prescriptions by patients and clinics.
• Contact patients to arrange for medication refills.
• Participate in staff meetings actively.
• Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the pharmacist and/or manager within the role's scope of practice.
• A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a pharmacy environment is required.
• Familiarity with Kroll is preferred.
• Knowledge of specialty medications and understanding third-party billing issues is considered beneficial.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively in French is an asset.
• Strong computer proficiency in a Windows environment utilizing MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
• Proven capacity to self-manage time, prioritize tasks, and multitask to meet competing deadlines.
• Ability to perform all technical duties necessary for the successful dispensing of medications.
• Capability to undertake physical tasks associated with the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.
