PFL Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Engaging with claimants, employers, and various medical professionals via phone and email to collect information related to Short Term Disability claims.

• Partnering with fellow case managers, nurse case managers, and consulting physicians to ensure timely and accurate claim decisions.

• Analyzing complex medical records and effectively utilizing a range of tools and resources to determine appropriate approval durations and develop future action plans.

• Performing precise financial calculations in accordance with company and state regulations.

• Delivering outstanding customer service while proactively identifying customer needs and potential areas for improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED

• 1-2 years of experience in claims, leaves, or customer service

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• Excellent organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks

• Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities while managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls

• Experience in disability and/or absence management

• Strong mathematical skills for accurate payment calculations
