This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Perform research on the economic impacts, financial frameworks, and market assessments to analyze the significance of petrochemicals within the nation’s economy, the financial outcomes of key petrochemical players, and the growth path of the petrochemical market.
• Carry out horizon scanning for advancements in the petrochemical sector by reviewing articles, annual reports, investor presentations, and industry-related publications.
• Generate forecasts and trend analyses for the Indian petrochemical sector.
• Gather economic data from recognized datasets and other resources, employing data collection and data science methodologies.
• Apply statistical analysis, mathematical methods, and modeling techniques to create data.
• Interact with pertinent external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, banking entities, investors, MDBs) domestically and internationally, representing IEEFA at meetings and industry events.
• Collaborate with colleagues while also working independently to research and produce original, engaging, and professional reports and commentaries regarding India’s petrochemical landscape.
• Responsible for drafting, formatting, and proofreading reports, submissions, press releases, and presentations.
• Perform other assigned tasks.
• 2-4 years of experience in economics or finance, with a preference for experience related to the Indian petrochemical sector (including petrochemicals, agrochemicals, and plastics).
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or engineering, and/or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA) or equivalent market-oriented experience.
• Extensive experience analyzing the impact of industry growth on the economy, financial reporting, stocks, and investment portfolios.
• Strong understanding of finance, economics, and quantitative analysis.
• Knowledge of the policy and regulatory environment in the petrochemical industry, particularly in India.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, evidenced by publications, reports, commentaries, and interactions with regulators/government stakeholders.
• High level of technological proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with a proven ability to learn new software and applications quickly.

• Full-time 12-month fixed-term employment contract with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement, accompanied by market-competitive compensation.
• Some travel will be necessary.
