Personal Financial Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Provide coverage during short-term, surge, and on-demand situations arising from Military requirements.

• Deliver a complete range of personal financial counseling services to military personnel and their families at military installations.

• Assist service members in creating a spending plan for extended absences.

• Develop and distribute informational financial resources to service members and their families.

• Organize, promote, and conduct various Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.

• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.

• Proficiently utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods.

• Manage duty to warn scenarios in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.

• Communicate with leadership and engage in regular individual and group supervision.

• Participate in ongoing in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract-related activities as assigned or appropriate.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required.

• Applicants with an associate degree and 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• Individuals with a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant experience may also be considered in place of a bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is needed.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and possess fluent English language skills.

• If required by the contract, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is necessary.

• Candidates must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.

• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

• Possession of one of the following certifications is mandatory: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
