This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Take ownership of the reserve estimation process and consistently enhance intricate actuarial reserving methodologies.
• Deliver presentations at Loss Reserve Committee meetings with well-prepared, actionable insights.
• Evaluate reserving methods against industry standards to modernize practices.
• Act as the primary liaison for auditors, external actuaries, and state insurance departments.
• Analyze and challenge complex loss reserving techniques while providing expert guidance.
• Manage end-to-end talent development for an expanded team, including mentoring future reserving leaders.
• Align Allstate's vision and strategies with departmental goals and spearhead multi-year initiatives.
• Develop and comply with both internal and external regulatory requirements, including model governance and AI.
• Preferred bachelor's degree; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
• Required Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) or an equivalent actuarial credential.
• Over 12 years of progressive actuarial experience in P&C, with significant expertise in reserving.
• Extensive knowledge of loss reserving methodologies, including chain-ladder, Bornhuetter-Ferguson, Cape Cod, stochastic reserving, and individual claim-level models.
• Strong understanding of insurance reserving frameworks, enterprise risk management, capital, and regulatory standards (GAAP, Statutory).
• Ability to rapidly learn and utilize a diverse array of analytical tools, data sources, and software applications.
• Proficient in AI, machine learning, and generative AI as related to reserving and broader actuarial functions.
• Familiarity with AI governance and model risk management frameworks.
• Outstanding communication skills — adept at crafting and delivering clear, persuasive, executive-level messages.
• Proven capability to influence colleagues at all levels and effectively coach others.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including the development of future leaders and constructing high-performing actuarial teams.
• Advanced program management skills, with a history of independently managing multiple high-complexity projects.
