PB Medical Coder – Neurology Clinic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate clinical documentation and diagnostic findings to accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for billing, reporting, and compliance purposes.

• Implement official coding guidelines under the direction of the coding manager or supervisor.

• Assist in the review and resolution of denials.

• Ensure proper documentation and reimbursement practices.

• Conduct high-quality coding of medical records.

• Seek clarification when documentation is insufficient.

• Uphold productivity, accuracy, and turnaround benchmarks for assigned work queues and chart reviews.

• Review and communicate necessary coding adjustments, re-bills, denials, and documentation concerns.

• Address coding and billing inquiries from providers, facilities, and internal teams.

• Maintain necessary credentials and adhere to organizational policies and HIPAA-compliant practices.

• Report coding issues, discrepancies, or challenges to leadership.

• Collaborate with quality and billing teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional coding experience in neurology clinic coding.

• CPC certification awarded by AAPC.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Experience with EMR systems.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and effectively communicating with clients and team members.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• High level of precision in work.

• Familiarity with federal and state coding regulations and guidelines.

• Required to maintain credentials throughout employment.
