Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage and execute payroll for clients with employees situated across Canada (mainly in Ontario) and the US, utilizing various payroll service providers while ensuring adherence to local regulations.

• Handle new hire onboarding, terminations, and modifications to employee payroll, including benefits and payroll documentation.

• Address inquiries and resolve issues related to payroll from both clients and employees as they arise.

• Generate and file Record of Employment and T4 forms, along with any other relevant reporting requirements.

• Process and remit payroll-related government payments, including source deductions, EHT, WSIB, etc.

• Calculate and manage vacation accruals.

• Establish payroll systems and processes for clients, focusing on ongoing improvements and automation opportunities.

• Collaborate and build relationships with clients and members of the BrightIron team.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least three years of relevant experience as a payroll administrator or specialist.

• Completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.

• Experience in managing both Canadian and US payroll.

• Proficient knowledge of various payroll software such as Wagepoint, ADP, Ceridian, etc.

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with fluency in English.

• Highly organized and adept at engaging with clients independently.

• A positive demeanor and a high degree of professionalism when interacting with clients.

• Outstanding time management, interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.

• Detail-oriented with a proven capability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks.

• Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively as part of a team.
