Payment Backend Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Supporting and enhancing the payment backend stack and associated services.

• Designing, implementing, and optimizing integrations with payment providers, PSPs, and internal systems.

• Developing reliable, secure, and scalable solutions for payment flow, reconciliation, refunds, chargebacks, and related operations.

• Improving the stability, performance, and observability of services.

• Providing technical leadership: mentoring the team, conducting code reviews, participating in architectural decision-making, and collaborating with product and other engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in technical leadership or a role as a team lead/lead engineer.

• Strong experience with payment systems, fintech, or e-commerce.

• Understanding of PCI DSS standards and experience working within them.

• Knowledge of security, reliability, and scaling critical services.

• Technical stack: - Node.js + TypeScript - AWS-native architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS) - PostgreSQL + ORM experience - Stripe + other PSP integrations (PayPal, Adyen, etc.) - Serverless Framework, GitHub Actions, CI/CD - Observability, testing, and monitoring of payment-critical flows.
