Patient Service Representative – Billing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Acting as the primary liaison for patients to ensure clear and effective communication.

• Working in collaboration with clinical teams to confirm insurance coverage and benefits prior to telehealth appointments.

• Aiding patients in comprehending their financial responsibilities and available payment options.

• Leveraging Zendesk to efficiently and professionally address patient billing inquiries.

• Engaging in audits to identify billing inconsistencies and trends that impact patient and inter-departmental billing.

• Contributing to cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing patient experiences and streamlining billing processes.

• Supporting patients in verifying their information, scheduling appointments, and updating Electronic Health Records (EHR).

• Overseeing intake procedures, which include handling healthcare and insurance forms, as well as collecting payments.

• Complying with organizational and regulatory standards to protect patient privacy and safety; ensuring the confidentiality of patient Protected Health Information (PHI).

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in providing exceptional patient/customer service.

• 1-2 years of experience in billing (preferred).

• 2 years of experience using Zendesk.

• 2 years of experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred).

• 2 years of experience with Google Workplace (required).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, maintaining a professional demeanor.

• A strong, dependable internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free workspace are required.
