This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Oversees the operations of the Hospital Billing Department concerning claims, follow-up, credits, variances, and denials for hospital-based services.
• Ensures sufficient staffing for Hospital Billing activities.
• Monitors and approves Paid Time Off (PPL) in line with organizational and departmental policies.
• Offers resource support to staff regarding departmental responsibilities, operations, computer systems, and procedures.
• Establishes productivity targets and generates reports to evaluate performance.
• Regularly reviews staff goals and performance metrics.
• Provides feedback on productivity and quality to team members.
• Prepares staff evaluations and implements corrective actions as necessary.
• Reviews billing reports and dashboards for accuracy.
• Participates in the recruitment process for new hires.
• Guides new employees through departmental policies and procedures.
• Investigates and resolves issues raised by parents, physicians, payers, and various departments.
• Aids in the formulation of process improvement initiatives.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in hospital or large physician office billing.
• Strong understanding of hospital patient accounting procedures.
• At least 2 years of experience in hospital accounts receivable collections.
• Experience with computer applications, particularly spreadsheets.
• Capability to analyze issues affecting billing and collection efficiency.
