Patient Relations Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the patient relations team by overseeing patient outreach and managing inbound balance call functions.

• Provide coaching to staff, establish outreach and call service standards, and ensure the daily workload is balanced.

• Assist the statements team with patient outreach and facilitate the transition of accounts to the external collections agency.

• Supervise the patient collections approval queue, confirming that outreach is completed and that no holds (such as active treatment, pending insurance, or open disputes) are in place before approving accounts for transfer.

• Address escalated patient accounts, disputes, and hardship cases with careful and compliant judgment.

• Guarantee that patient financial communications contribute to a positive patient experience.

• Monitor patient accounts receivable aging and self-pay recovery, and provide reports on outreach and collections performance to management.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field is advantageous).

• At least 5 years of experience in patient accounts receivable, patient financial services, or collections, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

• Strong empathetic and professional communication skills with patients, particularly in financial discussions.

• Knowledge of collections compliance regulations (e.g., FDCPA) and governance of payment plans.

• Proficient understanding of dental practice management systems and patient ledgers.

• Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication abilities.
