Patient Intake Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist with the admission of new patients by accurately collecting and entering demographic and clinical details.

• Confirm insurance coverage and assess benefits.

• Submit authorization requests and follow up as necessary.

• Examine the validity of prescriptions and identify any missing or required documentation.

• Engage with patients and referral sources to gather essential intake information.

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a timely commencement of care.

• Maintain precise documentation that complies with HIPAA regulations.

• Background in customer service or as a patient service representative within the healthcare sector.

• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.

• Proficient in managing multiple intake cases concurrently.

• Capable of working independently in a remote setting.

• Knowledgeable about healthcare documentation and insurance processes.

• Ability to maintain a quiet and dedicated workspace free from distractions.

• Competent in participating in virtual meetings with a professional appearance and demeanor.

• Excellent time-management skills, accountability, and self-direction.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection is mandatory.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office administration, or insurance support.

• Prior experience with insurance verification or authorization processes is preferred.

• Experience in home health, DME, or medical office settings is advantageous.

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
