This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Confirms that claims are received by the payer.
• Proactively follows up to secure payments through phone calls, portal, or website usage.
• Analyzes claim adjustment reason codes or explanations of benefits for necessary follow-up.
• Assesses next steps following denial reviews.
• Prepares appeals or fills out reconsideration forms according to payer specifications.
• Acquires and dispatches medical records as needed.
• Engages with patients or payers directly to address account balances.
• Recognizes trends related to payer rejections or denials.
• Utilizes computer systems and technology to retrieve claims information.
• Ensures adherence to patient financial services policies.
• Investigates accounts at an advanced level that are denied due to No Authorization.
• Reports equipment issues and supply requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
• Experience in healthcare billing is preferred.
• Basic understanding of operating multiple software applications simultaneously.
• Fundamental business writing skills are required.
• Ability to collaborate with others to drive change.
