Patient Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Review patient accounts to verify balance accuracy and identify any outstanding payments.

• Interpret and clarify insurance ERAs/EOBs to effectively communicate patient responsibilities.

• Conduct both incoming and outgoing calls to patients concerning their outstanding balances.

• Engage with patients in a professional and confident manner, even during difficult conversations.

• Send well-crafted emails to patients when required to request payments or clarify balance details.

• Accurately post patient payments to the appropriate claims within eClinicalWorks (eCW).

• Prepare and distribute statements or receipts for patients.

• Maintain thorough and precise records of communications, payments, and account updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in patient collections, healthcare collections, or medical billing.

• Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or a similar medical billing system (experience with eCW is highly preferred).

• Ability to interpret and articulate ERAs/EOBs to patients clearly and confidently.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to manage difficult conversations professionally.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills when handling multiple patient accounts.

• Comfortable with both inbound and outbound patient communications.

• Capable of working independently, prioritizing tasks, and managing a high-volume workload.

• Experience with patient payment posting and generating statements/receipts.

• Previous exposure to environments requiring high-volume patient account follow-up.
