Patient Benefit Navigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Assist patients in managing their out-of-pocket expenses

• Support underinsured patients in navigating pharmaceutical manufacturer and foundation assistance programs

• Ensure accurate enrollment in assistance programs

• Negotiate copayment arrangements with patients

• Collect payment methods, communicate effectively with patients, and document necessary information

• Provide timely and precise financial analyses along with financial assistance options

• Carry out financial assistance evaluations for patients undergoing specialty therapies during new admissions, therapy modifications, and therapy additions

• Comprehend contract terms and fee schedules related to assistance requests

• Create and send patient assistance enrollment forms and correspondence

• Comply with federal, state, and contractual copay assistance regulations

• Act as a liaison among billing, pharmacy, and nursing to address prescription refill assistance concerns

• Update patient records in software systems based on agreement outcomes

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma required

• Minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in admissions, verification, intake, billing/collections, or pharmacy

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• A caring and compassionate demeanor

• Capability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively between departments

• Proficient in using personal computers, word processing software, and electronic spreadsheets

• Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication

• Familiarity with medical and prescription insurance coverage

• Understanding of gaps in insurance coverage

• Ability to conduct online research regarding disease states

• Certified Pharmacy Technician state certification, registration, or licensure is preferred
