This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +8 more states.
• Act as the main point of contact for patients and, when relevant, caregivers, healthcare providers, and advocacy organizations.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of each disease area and patient journey to facilitate patient engagement, ensure their perspectives are accurately reflected, and acknowledge condition-specific daily needs and quality-of-life factors that may influence how patients manage care and daily activities.
• Evaluate patient strengths, narratives, and readiness; align them with suitable client/program requirements.
• Assist patients in meeting contractual obligations and preparing for engagements.
• Organize and enhance presentation skills coaching and training to ensure patient representatives feel confident and effective.
• Oversee performance and engagement quality, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate closely with Client Strategic Services to synchronize patient representative activities with client goals and brand initiatives.
• Liaise with client (pharmaceutical company) representatives about patient engagement necessities, expectations, and onsite coordination.
• Aid in the execution of client-facing events (e.g., educational programs, internal meetings, photo/video shoots) and represent the program professionally on-site.
• Convert patient insights into actionable recommendations that enhance client strategies and solutions.
• Proactively identify enhancements to better fulfill client needs and improve service delivery.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of patient community engagements and related projects (from needs assessment to execution and closure).
• Responsible for directing the Meetings Logistics team to plan and implement logistics for projects, including scheduling, travel coordination, and compliance with travel guidelines.
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet timelines and requirements.
• Assist with the annual patient training summit or other ongoing training initiatives.
• Facilitate the expense process and ensure smooth operational follow-through.
• Contribute to process optimization and update SOPs to reflect changes in policies, procedures, and brand initiatives.
• Complete and adhere to mandatory compliance trainings (e.g., HIPAA/Privacy & Security, Sunshine Act, Adverse Event reporting, FDA/FTC promotional requirements, internal policies).
• Handle PHI/PII appropriately; maintain contracts, health records, and personal data according to HIPAA and relevant privacy standards.
• Ensure Adverse Events are recognized, escalated, and reported according to client specifications and internal processes.
• Keep contracts up-to-date and monitor expirations to avoid lapses in eligibility/engagement.
• Ensure financial and expense activities comply with internal policies and client requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in a life sciences agency, patient advocacy, patient engagement or patient communication consulting firm, or advocacy organization working directly with patients.
• Experience with pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies is advantageous.
• Experience working directly with patient advocacy groups, patients, and caregivers; must possess an empathetic tone and demeanor.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity to manage coordination responsibilities across various project requirements/project functions.
• Comfort and confidence in the regular use, application, and potential of AI.
• Familiarity with FDA and HIPAA guidelines as well as health literacy principles.
• Willingness to travel: 35-40%.
