This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• Calculate and deliver precise, timely cost estimates for planned procedures based on patient insurance, benefits, and historical data.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage levels (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) to ascertain patient financial responsibilities.
• Review and accurately submit prior authorization requests for scheduled procedures based on patient insurance, benefits, and clinical data.
• Directly communicate with patients about their estimated financial obligations and discuss payment options or the need for financial counseling.
• Secure essential pre-certifications and authorizations, ensuring all documentation is correct.
• Log into and out of various systems (including practice management systems) to research and respond to patient inquiries accurately and in detail.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy regulations when handling incoming, returning, or placing outbound calls.
• Obtain patient payment information over the phone, process the payment, and accurately document it in the account.
• Effectively escalate issues to a supervisor or management for assistance when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all client-specific protocols during the patient billing cycles.
• Respond to requests professionally and promptly, and follow up on outstanding requests similarly.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strict compliance with patient confidentiality policies is mandatory.
• Detail-oriented approach.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
