Patient Account Representative 2 – Clinic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Oversee the patient accounts process

• Timely respond to inquiries from patients, colleagues, and staff regarding patient accounts

• Assist in delivering effective training and orientation for designated employees

• Inform patients or guarantors about third-party payer benefits and estimated private payer costs

• Collect partial payments prior to patient admissions

• Verify the accuracy of patient documentation

• Investigate issues related to patient accounts, billing, insurance, and payments

• Communicate with third-party payers as necessary

• Reconcile patient accounts and establish payment plans

• Manage and initiate payroll deduction actions for hospital staff

• Supervise the mailing of collection letters for overdue patient accounts

• Provide itemized patient account statements upon attorney request or subpoena

• Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to ensure timely reimbursement for hospital services

• Explain and counsel patients and their families on hospital charges, services, and payment policies

• Carry out additional duties as assigned or requested

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital setting (2 years in other environments) in medical accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field

• High School diploma or equivalent
