This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Consistently upholds the Patients First philosophy while adhering to exceptional customer service standards.

• Addresses inquiries and concerns from patients.

• Escalates extraordinary issues to the Team Lead or Operations Coordinator as necessary.

• Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Delivers outstanding customer service to patients, creating a positive first impression of Northwestern Medicine.

• Surpasses all consumer requests and informs management of any issues or concerns that require escalation.

• Accurately identifies and gathers patient demographic information according to organizational standards.

• Collaborates with various hospital departments and physicians' offices to efficiently schedule and guide patients through the NMHC systems in a customer-friendly manner.

• Proactively contacts patients to arrange appointments as required.

• Conducts medical necessity checks for scheduled services as necessary.

• Completes out-of-pocket estimations as requested by patients.

• Provides training and education as needed.

• Efficiently manages work schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks and assignments.

• Engages in Quality Assurance reviews to maintain the integrity of patient data information.

• Applies effective service recovery skills to address problems or service breakdowns when they arise.

• Follows departmental and hospital policies and procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.

• Communicates relevant information to patients regarding physician referrals, insurance referrals, and consultations.

• Fosters a professional and constructive environment for communication across units and departments, resolving operational issues as they occur.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• 2-3 years of experience in customer service or medical office settings.

• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Proficient in computer data entry and typing.

• Strong ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.

• Capable of multi-tasking.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
