This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.
• Deliver product reimbursement, distribution, logistical, and various non-medical educational support to patients, caregivers, healthcare provider offices, and care sites.
• Inform patients and healthcare professionals about therapy access prerequisites, prior authorizations, and appeal processes.
• Assist in locating care sites that are more convenient for patients and explore home dosing alternatives.
• Guide office and care site personnel to pinpoint individuals who can assist with coverage and access requirements.
• Educate patients on copayment assistance, patient aid programs, and other affordability solutions.
• Offer non-medical educational guidance regarding what to expect when beginning therapy.
• Prepare patients and coordinate their appointments and treatments.
• Build trusted relationships with patients and caregivers through phone calls, text messages, emails, virtual meetings, and face-to-face interactions.
• Adhere to educational and support programs to enhance compliance with prescribed therapies.
• Provide education to large centers, community prescribers, and care sites regarding procurement options and billing/coding standards.
• Maintain documentation of case progress, complete assigned tasks, and manage cases within the Krystal patient CRM/Workflow system.
• Collaborate with specialty pharmacies, distributors, field sales teams, and internal cross-functional departments.
• Respond swiftly to avoid interruptions in treatment.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A BS/BA degree is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of experience in patient services, field reimbursement, biopharma sales, or account management is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of direct interaction with patients/families providing education and access support is necessary.
• A scientific background and the capacity to acquire product and disease knowledge are essential.
• Experience in orphan or rare diseases while working directly with patients/caregivers is preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and FDA guidelines is required.
• Willingness to travel between 30%-50% is necessary.
• Proficiency in managing challenging patient cases and overcoming obstacles is crucial.
• Ability to function in a team-oriented environment and effectively communicate with internal colleagues, specialty pharmacy partners, and field sales is important.
• Must be able to respond urgently when necessary, within 24 hours, to avert treatment interruptions.
• Experience with buy & bill/medical benefit reimbursement and distribution is required.
• Patient Journey Navigator (PJN) experience is preferred.
