This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, colleagues, and referral sources through effective front-office management and administration.
• Guide patients on their financial obligations following benefits verification.
• Collect co-payments and cash for over-the-counter purchases, while ensuring accurate completion of cash receipts.
• Maintain precise patient records in accordance with Hanger policies.
• Safeguard the privacy and security of health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support patient follow-up and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
• Manage cash receipts, input billing-system data, and facilitate bank deposits adhering to internal controls.
• Input patient demographics and verify insurance details.
• Handle multiple phone lines effectively.
• Document clear, concise, and accurate written records.
• Organize patient charts and other essential documentation.
• Schedule clinician appointments and ensure patient coverage.
• Process and track referrals, authorizations, and prescriptions.
• Execute other assigned tasks and special projects.
• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Must achieve the minimum job-fit standard set by Hanger’s Talent Bullseye assessment.
• A minimum score of 70 on the Talent Bullseye assessment is mandatory.
• Preferred experience of two to four years in customer service, administrative roles, or related fields.
• Previous experience in a receptionist capacity or familiarity with medical front-office procedures is preferred.
• Must possess, or be eligible to acquire, a valid driver’s license and comply with Hanger’s driving record requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, telephone, and written communication abilities.
• Capable of typing accurately at a rate of 30 words per minute.
• Ability to work with individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of the Alpha filing system.
• Familiarity with medical reimbursement procedures, terminology, and front-office receptionist duties is preferred.
• Proficient in using computers, Windows-based applications, and email.
• Competent in operating office equipment including fax machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers.
• Ability to act with integrity, prioritize patient-centered service, collaborate transparently, innovate, and focus on outcomes.
