This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.
• Oversee and manage front-office operations for patients, staff, and referral sources.
• Collect patient and insurance details while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and compliance protocols.
• Provide guidance to patients regarding their financial obligations after confirming benefits.
• Collect co-payments and any applicable over-the-counter cash.
• Process cash receipts and assist with billing-system data entry and bank deposits.
• Maintain precise patient records while safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Support patient follow-ups and quality assurance initiatives.
• Input patient demographics and verify insurance information.
• Handle multiple phone lines efficiently.
• Document clear, concise, and accurate written records.
• Organize patient charts and other documentation in line with established protocols.
• Schedule clinician appointments for coverage and coordinate out-of-office calls.
• Process and track referrals, authorizations, and prescriptions to quickly obtain complete information.
• Carry out additional duties or special projects as assigned.
• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A minimum score of 70 on Hanger’s Talent Bullseye assessment is necessary.
• A preferred or required minimum of two to four years of experience in customer service, administration, or a related field.
• Experience with receptionist or medical front-office procedures is preferred.
• Must possess, or be eligible to acquire, a valid driver's license and meet Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy standards.
• Strong interpersonal, telephone, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
• Capability to accurately type at least 30 words per minute.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities.
• Familiarity with the Alpha filing system is required.
• Understanding of medical reimbursement, terminology, and front-office receptionist responsibilities is preferred.
• Proficient in using computers, Windows-based software, and email applications.
• Skilled in operating office equipment such as fax machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers.
• Must demonstrate a strong fit for the role as determined by the Talent Bullseye assessment.
