This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, colleagues, and referral sources through effective front-office coordination and administration.
• Guide patients on their financial obligations following benefits verification.
• Collect co-payments and cash payments for over-the-counter items, and ensure cash receipts are completed accurately.
• Keep precise patient records in accordance with Hanger's policies.
• Safeguard the privacy and security of protected health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support patient follow-up and quality assurance initiatives.
• Manage cash receipts, perform billing-system data entry, and process bank deposits while adhering to internal controls.
• Input patient demographic information and verify insurance details.
• Operate multiple phone lines efficiently.
• Produce clear, concise, and accurate written documentation.
• Organize patient charts and other essential documentation.
• Coordinate clinician schedules and manage coverage for appointments and out-of-office calls.
• Handle and oversee referrals, authorizations, and prescription processing.
• Execute other assigned tasks and special projects as needed.
• High school diploma or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
• A minimum score of 70 on Hanger’s Talent Bullseye assessment is necessary.
• Ideally, two to four years of experience in customer service, administrative roles, or related fields is preferred.
• Experience in a receptionist role or familiarity with medical front-office processes is advantageous.
• Must possess, or be eligible to acquire, a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Hanger’s criteria.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, telephone, and written communication skills are essential.
• Capability to accurately type at least 30 words per minute.
• Comfort in working with individuals with disabilities is required.
• Familiarity with the Alpha filing system is important.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and reimbursement processes is preferred.
• Understanding of front-office receptionist responsibilities is beneficial.
• Proficiency in using a computer, Windows-based software, and email is necessary.
• Ability to operate office equipment such as fax machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers is required.
• Must demonstrate integrity, build patient trust, collaborate transparently, innovate, and focus on achieving superior outcomes.
