
Pathology Research Scientist – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +7 more locations.
• Act as a pathology subject-matter expert (SME) for biomarker and diagnostic initiatives.
• Offer scientific direction through comprehensive literature reviews and synthesis of primary data sources.
• Aid computational pathology and AI/ML projects by converting clinical and histopathologic insights into actionable guidance for model development.
• Establish annotation guidelines specific to diseases and indications.
• Conduct or evaluate digital slide annotations using validated platforms.
• Work collaboratively across departments to ensure that pathology-derived results are clinically relevant and appropriately aligned with objectives.
• MD/DO, MBBS, or equivalent with board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
• Surgical pathology subspecialty training or certification is highly preferred.
• Significant experience in clinical trials, translational research, or drug development is strongly preferred.
• Proven capability to effectively collaborate within cross-functional, multi-stakeholder project teams.
• Practical experience with digital pathology platforms and AI-enabled or computational pathology workflows is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of research protocols with a focus on detail and scientific precision.
• Ability to operate within sponsor-provided systems, environments, and data governance frameworks.
• An advanced degree (e.g., MS, MPH, or PhD) in a life sciences field is advantageous.
