
Part Time Patient Advocate – Hereditary Cancer

• The Patient Advocate will serve on the front lines, representing the organization to our customers, which include clinics, physicians, medical staff, and patients.
• Manage a range of complex inbound and outbound inquiries to assist and empathize with our clientele.
• Responsible for coordinating testing services for patients by reviewing test request forms and accompanying documentation submitted with patient specimens to ensure accurate and timely testing.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to complete necessary documentation and sample submissions.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefit levels.
• Communicate with patients to clarify insurance coverage benefits and provide test information, including processes and turnaround times.
• The employee will spend approximately 60-80% of their time on the phone.
• Independently manage assigned tasks while meeting production and quality metrics.
• Act as the central hub across all departments: collaborate with technology, revenue cycle, field sales, and lab teams to facilitate prompt handling of orders and billing processes.
• Identify issues and trends, working with your team and leadership to establish best practices that ensure we deliver excellent service and experiences to all customers.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance plan.
• Adhere to applicable CLIA and HIPAA regulations.
• A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred and encouraged.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preference will be given to applicants with a higher net typing speed.
• Strong listening, transcribing, and self-review abilities.
• Proficient in PC use, including familiarity with Excel, Word, Internet, and email.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, often under pressure.
• Excellent organizational and task management skills, along with sound professional judgment.
