This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Evaluate Service Agreements to ensure that QDRO review and determination services are incorporated into the client contract.
• Assess Domestic Relations Orders submitted for qualification under relevant retirement plans.
• Ascertain whether DROs fulfill the criteria of a Qualified Domestic Relations Order in accordance with ERISA and the IRC.
• Engage with plan participants, alternate payees, attorneys, and internal departments regarding the QDRO qualification process.
• Compose correspondence outlining deficiencies in proposed orders and recommend suitable revisions.
• Maintain precise records of all QDRO-related activities.
• Offer support to client service teams to aid plan administrators with compliance and procedural updates.
• Ensure all determinations align with plan provisions and applicable federal legislation.
• Keep abreast of developments in QDRO regulations and best practices.
• Assist in the development and upkeep of QDRO procedures.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, specifically in QDROs or retirement plan administration.
• Familiarity with ERISA, IRC, and other regulations impacting retirement plans.
• Strong analytical capabilities and proficient legal writing skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple files with conflicting deadlines.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems, including Workfront, Fresh Services, Chorus, IMPACT, CLIFF, and BOX.com.
