Outreach & Disaster Response Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design and present informative sessions to nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, government entities, healthcare partners, and community associations.

• Engage in outreach efforts across the seven-county Golden Crescent Region to enhance awareness of 2-1-1 services.

• Build and maintain strategic alliances with community organizations, local authorities, emergency management agencies, and other key stakeholders.

• Assess resource deficiencies and community trends, proposing outreach strategies to enhance service accessibility.

• Act as a representative for 2-1-1 at community meetings, coalitions, conferences, and public gatherings.

• Oversee the collection, validation, and distribution of disaster-related resource information.

• Create and circulate disaster alerts, situational updates, and resource information to 2-1-1 personnel and TIRN members.

• Generate After-Action Reports (AARs) following disaster activations.

• Engage in emergency management meetings, trainings, drills, and disaster response operations.

• Ensure adherence to TIRN Emergency Management Protocols and statewide disaster response guidelines.

• Offer Information & Referral (I&R) and crisis intervention services as operational needs dictate.

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of 2-1-1 systems, technologies, operations, and disaster response protocols.

• Provide leadership and operational support during periods of high call volume, disaster activations, and special projects.

• Assist Call Specialists during critical operational demands to support service level objectives.

• Execute other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in Health & Human Services, Social Services, or a related field.

• High level of interpersonal skills necessary to manage sensitive and confidential information.

• This position consistently requires poise, tact, and diplomacy.

• Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience in community outreach, emergency management, nonprofit leadership, or human services.

• Comprehensive knowledge of community issues.

• Strong connections within the nonprofit, public, and private sectors.

• Experience in staff and volunteer management.

• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in disaster response or emergency management.

• Familiarity with Texas 2-1-1, TIRN, and Inform USA standards.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.

• Experience with resource databases or case management systems.
