This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct in-person O&M evaluations and deliver services according to IEP specifications.
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and students to establish consistent service schedules.
• Create IEP objectives that are pertinent to the educational environment.
• Instruct on travel skills, which encompass sensory efficiency, cane techniques, orientation strategies, and environmental awareness.
• Offer suitable accommodations, modifications, and recommendations for assistive technology to school personnel.
• Ensure adherence to state and school regulations.
• Keep precise documentation, including service logs and progress reports.
• Gather data to monitor advancement toward IEP objectives.
• Provide training and support to families and educational staff.
• Engage in IEP meetings and collaborate in school team activities.
• Uphold a professional work environment and maintain a reliable schedule.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist.
• Current state certification in Orientation & Mobility as mandated by the state education department.
• Capacity to work independently with regular availability during standard school hours.
• Experience assisting students in virtual environments.
• Knowledge of assistive technology utilized by students with visual impairments.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel for in-person O&M services.
• Proficient with basic computer systems, including MS365.
• Capability to pass background checks.
