This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Execute daily DBA tasks across Oracle and MongoDB environments.

• Assist with new customer transitions, onboarding processes, and ongoing operations.

• Offer consultative insights on database architecture, scalability, and best operational practices.

• Install, configure, upgrade, and sustain Oracle and MongoDB database systems.

• Design, implement, and oversee backup, restoration, and recovery plans for both database platforms.

• Monitor database health, capacity, and performance; proactively detect risks.

• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting for workloads on Oracle and MongoDB.

• Establish and maintain database security measures, access management, and compliance protocols.

• Create automation for repetitive database operational and maintenance tasks.

• Develop and manage operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems.

• Engage in on-call and escalation support rotations.

• Spot opportunities for database modernization, optimization, and adoption of cloud solutions.

• Provide guidance to sales and account teams on Oracle and MongoDB opportunities within designated accounts.

• Prepare documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for client environments.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

• Undertake additional related responsibilities as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of enterprise DBA experience managing a combination of Oracle and MongoDB databases in both on-premises and cloud setups.

• Strong expertise throughout the entire database lifecycle (development, testing, and production).

• Proficient in administration of: Oracle Database (including Multitenant CDB/PDB, RAC, Data Guard; GoldenGate is a plus) MongoDB Community and/or Enterprise Edition (both standalone and replica set architectures).

• Demonstrated proficiency in: Backup and recovery strategies Performance tuning and troubleshooting Security hardening, authentication, authorization, and access management (RBAC) Installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.

• Experience in migrating, provisioning, and modernizing databases across various environments.

• Background in supporting ERP systems on Oracle databases (JD Edwards / E1 is preferred).

• Capability to provide advice on MongoDB best practices, limitations, and operational trade-offs.

• Public cloud experience: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) – required for Oracle workloads; experience with AWS and Azure is a plus.

• Strong inclination towards scripting and automation.

• Experience working across UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.
