Operator – 2nd Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Operate filling machinery, cappers, labelers, sealers, and other related equipment to fulfill customer order-driven production timelines.

• Execute tasks involving the operation, repair, and overhaul of mechanical equipment.

• Oversee the functioning of machines and equipment while emphasizing safety.

• Adhere to GMP, safety, regulatory, and Stratas Foods procedures and guidelines.

• Assess machine adjustments based on product specifications and material requirements.

• Set stops or guides to specified lengths utilizing scales, rules, or templates.

• Monitor machine operations and identify product defects or machine issues.

• Recognize mechanical problems that could lead to machine failures or downtime and report them to the supervisor.

• Log reasons for downtime in the CDC system.

• Halt and reset equipment during malfunctions, clear machine jams, and inform the Production Supervisor of impairments.

• Conduct periodic product sample weights to ensure correct fill weights and maintain product quality and conformity.

• Replace and restock product containers and packaging materials, including film, laminate, and mount rolls.

• Complete necessary documentation for product quality assurance.

• Carry out changeovers and perform minor machine maintenance and adjustments.

• Communicate with maintenance staff regarding more extensive maintenance needs.

• Assist mechanics with preventive maintenance and machine servicing or repairs in accordance with Lockout/Tagout protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma.

• Experience in a fast-paced, ready-to-eat food production environment is advantageous.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• Strong multi-tasking abilities.

• Capacity to perform well under pressure.

• Compliance with GMPs and safety standards is essential.

• Must use PPE and follow all safety regulations.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Capability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights.

• Sufficient auditory, visual, olfactory, and tactile senses to perform essential tasks.

• Understanding of proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.
