This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Operations Support Engineer will be tasked with overseeing and monitoring technical software systems, addressing customer concerns, and aiding in software operations linked to genomic technologies.
• This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams—including scientists, software engineers, and bioinformaticians—to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of support systems.
• The engineer will also play a role in developing and documenting support processes while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards in a healthcare setting.
• Maintain and oversee support systems for technical software, which includes web applications and genomic software.
• Troubleshoot complex code and analyze application logs to facilitate issue resolution.
• Intake, troubleshoot, and resolve customer inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate follow-up.
• Ensure appropriate escalation of issues to internal teams and maintain clear communication throughout the resolution process.
• Assist in code development and scripting to enhance operations support and automation.
• Contribute to the design and refinement of support workflows and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with scientists, software engineers, and bioinformaticians to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Work alongside DevOps and QA teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of support systems.
• Ensure that support systems and processes comply with regulatory standards such as CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and FDA.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and client-facing skills.
• Proven proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Familiarity with statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems; cloud experience is advantageous.
• Practical experience with databases and SQL is a plus.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn swiftly and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support or software engineering.
• Experience with genomic software systems is an added advantage.
• Experience in healthcare-related environments with stringent regulatory requirements is preferred.
