Operational Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete month-end closing process, which includes journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

• Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks and maintain precise financial records that are ready for audit.

• Conduct weekly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards.

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring payments and collections are timely and accurate.

• Execute payroll functions, including commission calculations and payments for contractors.

• Manage 401(k) processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

• Prepare and submit 1099 forms.

• Generate both recurring and ad hoc financial reports for leadership review.

• Identify inefficiencies in current processes and develop scalable workflows and controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of direct accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.

• Strong expertise in month-end closing, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.

• Familiarity with 401(k) administration, 1099 filing, and processing commission/contractor payments.

• Proficient in using tools such as Deel, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Campfire, Ramp, HubSpot, and Claude AI.

• Ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities, and operate with minimal supervision.

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Strong critical-thinking abilities and a proactive mindset focused on improvement.

• Flexible and adaptable, capable of handling diverse roles as needed.
