Open-Source Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the enhancement of the open-source machine learning ecosystem.

• Primarily focus on established open-source libraries such as Transformers, Datasets, Pytorch, and vLLM.

• Engage with users and contributors throughout the expansive open-source ML ecosystem.

• Assist in nurturing one of the most vibrant machine learning communities.

• Collaborate daily with researchers, ML practitioners, and data scientists via GitHub, our forums, and Slack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Python, with a proven track record of writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable library code.

• Extensive hands-on experience with a contemporary deep-learning framework, particularly PyTorch (experience with JAX or TensorFlow is an advantage).

• Practical knowledge of the Hugging Face open-source stack (Transformers, Datasets, Accelerate) or similar ML libraries.

• A demonstrable public record of open-source contributions, such as merged pull requests to ML or data libraries, available for review on GitHub.

• Strong understanding of modern machine learning and deep learning principles, including transformer architectures.

• Experience working collaboratively within a technical community in an open environment (GitHub issues and reviews, forums, Slack, or Discord).

• Excellent written English skills for effective asynchronous collaboration with a distributed, global community.
