Online Visiting Professor – Manufacturing and Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develops and delivers a syllabus for DeVry University students that adheres to the established template by the local campus and includes the terminal course objectives.

• Organizes, prepares, and routinely revises and updates all course materials.

• Utilizes suitable technological options for online platforms and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions, to prepare the course and ensure accessibility for students.

• Models effective oral and written communication to engage students, provide clarity, and enhance student learning.

• Establishes clear expectations for the course by publishing terminal objectives, assignment and examination dates, and the weighting of various evaluation categories.

• Ensures that the content and difficulty level of exam materials align with the course terminal objectives.

• Demonstrates consistency and fairness in exam preparation and grading, while providing timely feedback to students.

• Embraces and integrates the responsible use of AI technologies in the classroom to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

• Exhibits the ability to identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate student utilization of AI tools in academic work.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctorate in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field is required, with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in manufacturing systems, industrial automation, robotics, production engineering, or related technical disciplines.

• Applicants must submit unofficial graduate-level transcripts along with their application.

• Degrees must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an international institution deemed to hold equivalent accreditation.

• Three to five years of practical professional experience in manufacturing environments, industrial automation, production engineering, robotics, or advanced manufacturing systems.

• Proven experience with manufacturing processes and automation technologies, including production systems, programmable logic controllers, robotics, industrial control systems, or smart manufacturing environments.

• Two to five years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level, preferably in manufacturing technology, industrial automation, robotics, or applied engineering disciplines.

• Possession of industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or production systems.

• Strong subject matter expertise in manufacturing systems and automated technologies, paired with effective communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse learners.

• Knowledge of industrial safety standards, quality management practices, and operational efficiency principles within manufacturing environments.

• Additional requirements may be imposed by state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards.
