This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
• Instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in manufacturing and automation while adhering to DeVry University standards.
• Promote student learning and deliver practitioner-oriented education.
• Create approved course syllabi and lesson plans that align with terminal course objectives.
• Organize, prepare, update, and revise course materials as necessary.
• Utilize online technologies and course-related software, such as websites, email, and online discussions.
• Exhibit effective oral and written communication to engage students and enhance learning outcomes.
• Establish course expectations, publish objectives, schedule assignments and examinations, and determine evaluation weights.
• Ensure that exam content is in alignment with course terminal objectives.
• Prepare and grade exams in a consistent and fair manner, providing prompt feedback to students.
• Incorporate responsible use of AI technologies into the teaching and learning process.
• Identify, assess, and address both appropriate and inappropriate student utilization of AI tools.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Doctorate in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in manufacturing systems, industrial automation, robotics, production engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.
• The degree must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or possess equivalent international accreditation.
• 3–5 years of practical professional experience in manufacturing environments, industrial automation, production engineering, robotics, or advanced manufacturing systems.
• Proven experience with manufacturing processes and automation technologies, including production systems, programmable logic controllers, robotics, industrial control systems, or smart manufacturing environments.
• 2–5 years of post-secondary teaching experience, ideally in relevant fields such as manufacturing, automation, robotics, or applied engineering disciplines.
• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or production systems.
• Strong expertise in manufacturing systems and automated technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to a diverse range of learners.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards, quality management practices, and principles of operational efficiency in manufacturing settings.
