OCI Platform Engineering, Administration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and implementation of OCI architectures, encompassing landing zones, compartment strategies, and governance guardrails.

• Take ownership of OCI IAM design and operations, including policy authoring, dynamic groups, access reviews, and preparation of audit-ready evidence.

• Design and manage enterprise OCI networking and connectivity, involving DRG, DRG route tables, route distributions, IPSec VPN/FastConnect, DNS strategies, load balancers, and security controls (NSGs/security lists).

• Define and enforce best practices for tagging, naming conventions, and cost management across different environments.

• Oversee the operational administration of Oracle PaaS services as necessary (such as Autonomous Database, Oracle Integration Cloud, API Gateway, Functions, Streaming, Vault/KMS, Logging, Monitoring/Alarms) and their integrations.

• Establish monitoring and alerting systems, backup/restore strategies, certificate management, and upgrade/patch planning for PaaS services.

• Conduct advanced troubleshooting across platform dependencies, including identity, network paths, TLS/certificates, and service integrations; carry out root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

• Lead the end-to-end provisioning of Fusion instances: validation of intake, orchestration of provisioning, baseline configuration, access enablement, and validation of post-provision readiness.

• Administer Fusion environments: govern user and role access, coordinate environment refreshes, plan release/patch impacts, and enable integrations (OIC, SSO/IdP, allowlisting).

• Create and maintain standardized runbooks, checklists, and readiness gates for Fusion lifecycle operations and change validation.

• Develop and maintain Terraform automation, including reusable modules, remote state strategies, environment promotion (Dev/Test/Prod), code reviews, and CI/CD pipeline integration.

• Implement operational automation through scripting (Python/Bash) for provisioning, compliance checks, reporting, and routine administrative tasks.

• Establish change control standards, including peer reviews, automated validations, and release governance.

• Lead small technical workstreams by planning execution, managing dependencies, and driving delivery outcomes.

• Mentor Associates by supporting onboarding, training, and enhancing operational maturity.

• Promote operational excellence through service health reporting, dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in cloud/platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles with a strong focus on OCI.

• Extensive hands-on experience with OCI, covering networking, IAM, connectivity (DRG/VPN/FastConnect), compute, storage, monitoring, and governance.

• Demonstrated experience in administering Oracle PaaS services within enterprise environments.

• Significant experience with the provisioning and administration of Oracle Fusion instances (environment lifecycle and operations).

• Strong proficiency in Terraform, including module design, state management, troubleshooting, and CI/CD integration.

• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities in areas such as networking, identity, and service integrations.

• OCI Architect Associate/Professional certification or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with landing zone patterns, multi-environment governance, and guardrails.

• Exposure to OKE/Kubernetes and container networking.

• Experience in migrating workloads from on-premises or other cloud vendors to OCI.

• Familiarity with enterprise identity integrations (SSO/federation), secrets management, and compliance controls.

• Knowledge of ITSM, audit controls, and change management processes.
