This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Precisely assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for OB/GYN services including:

• Obstetric care: prenatal, antepartum, delivery, postpartum, and global packages

• Gynecologic surgeries: hysterectomy, laparoscopy, endometrial ablation, etc.

• Primary care and preventive visits: well-woman exams, preventive visits, annual wellness visits, screenings, immunizations

• Psychiatry and behavioral health visits related to perinatal and women’s mental health

• Nurse practitioner and physician E/M encounters

• Validate documentation to ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, and payer guidelines

• Keep current with coding changes and payer regulations

• Achieve and uphold department productivity and quality standards

• Safeguard the confidentiality and security of all protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA

• Collaborate with providers and billing staff to resolve discrepancies in documentation and coding

• At least 5 years of experience in physician-based coding

• Strong expertise in OB/GYN and related women’s health services

• Proficient in coding E/M (Evaluation & Management) services for primary care, psychiatry, and nurse practitioner visits

• Proven experience in coding OB global packages, deliveries, gynecologic surgeries, and related procedures

• In-depth understanding of OB/GYN terminology, anatomy, and physiology

• Familiarity with payer-specific billing guidelines and global obstetric package rules

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities

• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively

• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, various EHRs, and internet research)

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment

• Experience with Athena is preferred
