This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Ensures compliance of unit operations and staff with the Nursing Practice Act, standards set by regulatory agencies, as well as established policies and procedures.
• Collaborates as a team member to achieve the goals and objectives of both the unit and the organization, while maintaining quality management, patient care, and departmental standards.
• Takes responsibility for the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel, ensuring they receive appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and opportunities for ongoing professional development through mutual goal setting and performance evaluations.
• Effectively delegates responsibilities by fostering shared governance, and promotes and develops research that positively impacts clinical outcomes.
• Provides nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies, and procedures, and administers medications as required.
• Offers and evaluates the effectiveness of educational resources for patients and their families.
• Engages in performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of nursing care, promoting patient outcomes, and creating a cost-effective environment for patient care.
• Contributes to the development of policies, procedures, and standards that reflect evidence-based practices.
• Encourages shared accountability for professional practice.
• Allocates resources effectively to address the needs of the unit.
• Oversees budgetary responsibilities and, in collaboration with staff, is accountable to the organization for maintaining a cost-effective unit.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is mandatory.
• Current RN licensure in the applicable state is required.
• A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
• Candidates must possess or complete an MSN if their undergraduate degree is not a BSN.
• Enrollment in an MSN program within one year of hire or transfer date is required, with graduation from the MSN program expected within five years of hire.
• For those with a BSN as their undergraduate degree, a Master's Degree in a health-related field or an MBA is acceptable.
• Prior management experience is preferred.
• BLS certification is required in accordance with policy guidelines.
• Relevant professional certification (either clinical or leadership) must be obtained within one year of eligibility for the certification exam.
