📋 Description

• Serves as the editorial quality authority for technology and AI news coverage, publishing content across TechnologyAdvice’s digital media platforms.

• Assigns topics to freelance and staff writers; edits submissions to align with topic, division, and company guidelines; monitors traffic and revenue metrics while contributing to editorial strategy discussions.

• Conducts editing at all levels, including developmental, fact-checking, and copy editing.

• Provides written edits and constructive feedback to both staff and freelance writers.

• Edits articles to meet newsroom standards and optimize for Google Discover and Google News algorithms.

• Composes new articles as necessary.

• Guarantees that all published content resonates with the site’s audience, mission, and vision.

• Regularly assesses story quality to pinpoint areas needing enhancement.

• Proposes article concepts and content revisions.

• Stays informed on topic-related news, market competitors, and audience requirements and guidelines.

• Participates in editorial planning and execution for runway content.

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on various content initiatives.

• Assists topic leads and engages in other projects as directed by the manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience in writing and editing news, preferably within the B2B sector or in a technology-focused newsroom.

• Familiarity with technology products and vendors, along with their implications for governance, ethics, and consumer and enterprise requirements.

• Experience utilizing generative AI tools for writing and editing tasks.

• A portfolio that showcases proficiency in writing and editing.

• A degree in Journalism, English, Technical Writing, Publishing, Communication, or Writing is preferred.

• Exceptional copyediting and proofreading skills, with a strong command of American English spelling conventions.

• Excellent interpersonal abilities and the confidence to engage with highly skilled writers and freelancers.

• Outstanding research skills coupled with a strong eagerness to learn, investigate, and resolve problems.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, effectively organize time, and produce a high volume of quality work.

• Knowledge of Google News and Google Discover publishing platforms, along with experience in writing and editing for these platforms.

• Must possess a functional laptop/PC and internet access, including a backup connection.
