This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Cover significant breaking news events relevant to a statewide audience, either in person or via phone interviews.
• Develop relationships with sources and conduct interviews with state and national leaders, public officials, and other key figures in the news.
• Produce, write, and anchor hourly radio newscasts.
• Deliver news and information that is accurate, timely, and engaging.
• Research, write, edit, and publish news stories across various websites and social media platforms.
• Provide written articles, audio segments, and newscasts for affiliate clients of statewide radio networks.
• Formal training or proven experience in on-air broadcasting.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a radio or television station, network, or a similar news organization.
• Proficiency in the use of current digital audio editing and production tools.
• Experience in operating radio studio equipment and managing studio operations.
• Background in audio field production, including both live and recorded broadcasts.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills at the college level.
• Understanding of government, public affairs, and/or sports systems and processes.
• A Bachelor’s degree or a technical college degree in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
