Network Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage network security measures to safeguard against threats and vulnerabilities.

• Configure and oversee firewall devices, which includes rule creation, access control, and VPN tunnel setup.

• Maintain core switches, firewalls (Palo Alto), and operational networks.

• Administer and sustain our hybrid networks connecting on-premises infrastructures and AWS Cloud Availability Zones.

• Oversee all security updates and meticulously document network modifications.

• Analyze existing configurations and comprehend how the systems integrate within the broader network architecture.

• Deploy and supervise intrusion detection/prevention systems to identify and mitigate malicious activities.

• Perform regular vulnerability assessments to pinpoint and resolve security gaps.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Provide incident response, analytical support, containment, and recovery efforts during security incidents.

• Remain informed about emerging threats and preventative measures to maintain our optimal security posture.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree in computer science, information technology, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Familiarity with current networking protocols and standards.

• Practical experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues.

• In-depth knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto networks.

• Proficient understanding of AWS networking standards.

• Significant experience in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft networks.
