Network Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement and enhance GFiber’s network security measures.

• Establish clear objectives for network security and participate in intricate infrastructure projects.

• Design, deploy, and strengthen edge security measures and core routing systems.

• Counter large-scale attacks and protect GFiber’s network perimeters.

• Lead the achievement of network security goals across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

• Automate workflows, configurations, and alerting processes related to network security.

• Provide guidance during cross-functional infrastructure assessments and collaborate with the Network Engineering team.

• Recognize opportunities for network posture enhancements and work with team leads and colleagues to implement necessary changes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in security engineering, network security, or infrastructure security.

• Proficiency in BGP, firewalls, ACLs, high-volume traffic analysis, and mitigating external network threats.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.

• Scripting skills in Python or Go for network automation or security tools development.

• Familiarity with securing physical, virtual, and cloud-based network infrastructures.
