This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate directly with customers via support tickets to onboard BYO-BGP clients, addressing performance challenges related to availability, reachability, latency, and jitter, as well as managing cloud-native VPC networks.
• Investigate network incidents to uncover potential contributing factors such as technical debt, architectural flaws, or procedural shortcomings, and take initiative in implementing comprehensive improvements across platforms.
• Draft, evaluate, and test procedural documentation aimed at facilitating scheduled maintenance that minimizes customer disruption and enhances the overall customer experience.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure prompt resolution of network issues, including those related to automation.
• Diagnose issues to pinpoint problems at any layer of the OSI Model.
• Proficient in network operations troubleshooting, planning, and executing network modifications.
• At least 1-2 years of experience with BGP-based networks, including substantial expertise in Internet-scale routing tables, IRR’s, RIR’s, RPKI, routing policies, peering policies, and architectures.
• Familiarity with technologies and protocols such as VxLAN and EVPN.
• Basic experience in Linux administration (Debian preferred), with knowledge of Linux Kernel routes, iptables, nftables, ebtables, ipset, and network routing suites like FRR and Bird (preferred).
• Understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPC’s, NFV, Direct Connect, and IPsec.
• Ability to document troubleshooting processes for repetitive tasks effectively.
• Proactive in identifying network issues before they escalate into larger problems.
• Preferred knowledge in creating scripts/tools for automating repeatable network changes and gathering network health data.
• Experience in opening and managing tickets with vendors and transit providers.
• Knowledge of scripting in Python and familiarity with Ansible playbooks is advantageous.
• Understanding of at least one vendor and operating system, such as Juniper, Cisco, Brocade, Cumulus, or SONiC.
• Certifications like CCNA or JNCIA are highly desirable.
