Network Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of next-generation firewalls from Fortinet, Cisco, and Palo Alto.

• Support customer-facing networks and collaborate with senior engineers on network expansion, hardware refresh, and connectivity solutions.

• Implement system and network configurations in alignment with corporate security policies and industry best practices.

• Provide support for SD-WAN, MPLS, Layer 2 and Layer 3 wired/wireless connectivity, as well as firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers.

• Manage Cradlepoint wireless edge devices via Ericsson NetCloud Manager, including onboarding, provisioning, configuration groups, firmware updates, and license tracking.

• Offer break/fix support and change management for Cradlepoint deployments, which includes troubleshooting LTE/5G issues, managing RMAs, and making configuration adjustments.

• Deliver multi-layered technical support to customers from the Network Operations Center.

• Review and resolve potentially service-impacting anomalies, escalating as necessary.

• Take ownership of complex customer issues until resolution.

• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and third-party providers to troubleshoot problems.

• Document issues in the ticketing system and provide timely updates to customers.

• Obtain and maintain relevant technical certifications.

• Adhere to company ethics, values, data-handling procedures, privacy practices, policies, and compliance requirements.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or University degree in a related field, or a minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• Proficient in hands-on network troubleshooting utilizing OSI model knowledge, debug commands, packet captures, routing, and path analysis.

• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA/Firepower, Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center, Fortinet FortiGate, Fortinet Access Points, and Fortinet Switches.

• Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches; exposure to Cisco Nexus is preferred.

• Knowledge of Juniper EX/QFX switches, routers, and SRX firewalls.

• Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama management.

• Experience in supporting and troubleshooting SD-WAN, including FortiGate SD-WAN.

• Skilled in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Cradlepoint routers and wireless WAN solutions via Ericsson NetCloud Manager, including LTE/5G connectivity.

• Competent in troubleshooting BGP and OSPF; IS-IS exposure is a plus.

• Familiarity with load balancers is advantageous; experience with F5 LTM/GTM is preferred.

• Exposure to VMware NSX-V and NSX-T is a plus.

• Working knowledge of MPLS concepts and troubleshooting is essential.

• Strong experience in Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting.

• Exposure to AWS networking services is advantageous, including VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Security Groups, and NACLs.

• Familiarity with Cloudflare services is a plus, encompassing DNS, CDN, WAF, DDoS protection, Zero Trust/Access, and Tunnel.

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to convey technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a commitment to incident ownership until resolution within a 24/7 operations environment.

• Ability to collaborate across shifts and time zones while sharing knowledge with colleagues.

• Demonstrated learning agility and adaptability.

• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Cradlepoint certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

• Must have legal eligibility to work in the designated country without visa sponsorship.

• Ability to work for extended periods using a computer, keyboard, mouse, office software, and communication tools.

• Capability to engage in frequent virtual meetings and communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.

• Willingness to work occasional evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays for 24/7 operational support.
