This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Spearhead and implement technical professional services projects, ensuring the successful deployment of advanced features and integrations.
• Offer expert advice on network observability, assisting customers in designing and optimizing their infrastructure utilizing Kentik insights.
• Actively analyze customer usage patterns and network data to discover unutilized opportunities for value addition. You will pinpoint areas where customers can enhance visibility and suggest specific features or workflows to help them meet their objectives.
• Aid customers in integrating Kentik with their proprietary tools, systems, and workflows, employing APIs and scripting as necessary.
• Conduct technical check-ins to uphold high success rates, share new features/roadmap, and identify fresh opportunities for customers to expand their platform usage.
• Serve as an advocate for customer needs, relaying detailed technical feedback and feature requests to the Product Management team.
• Help identify opportunities to enhance technical documentation and materials to support other customers in their success.
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to achieve results and ensure alignment with customer objectives.
• Over 5 years of experience in high-tech solutions engineering, professional services, or network engineering roles.
• Must reside on the U.S. West Coast.
• Strong, demonstrable knowledge of network and application protocols, including Netflow, BGP, SNMP, DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP, along with their application in infrastructure design and operations.
• Proven experience in managing Cisco/Juniper routers and Linux servers.
• Familiarity with network observability or monitoring tools (e.g., Kentik, Netscout Arbor, Splunk, Dynatrace, Catchpoint, etc.).
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to engage in in-depth technical discussions with staff-level engineers and architects.
• Understanding of DDoS attacks and basic mitigation strategies.
• Technical curiosity - a strong desire to continually ask “how” or “why” and an unwavering pursuit of new knowledge and best practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to engage with customers at their locations or at industry events.
