Network Engineer, Network Monitoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Execute technical tasks as a mid-to-senior team contributor.

• Oversee, maintain, and enhance network monitoring systems.

• Create and manage scripts using Perl, Python, and shell.

• Generate clear and precise technical documentation, presenting findings or recommendations to client stakeholders.

• Identify when project-affecting issues require escalation and take appropriate action.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 8 years of direct experience in enterprise networking or systems engineering, with significant expertise in network monitoring and management platforms.

• Strong experience with Linux environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of network management and monitoring solutions.

• Proficient in Perl, Python, and shell scripting.

• Familiar with SNMP MIB analysis, trap parsing, and SNMP table polling.

• Knowledgeable in networking and routing protocols such as TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.

• Capable of working independently from the outset.

• Able to produce high-quality technical documents with minimal supervision.
